| §Chadia, What a great workshop! Thank you so much for arranging it and offering it to your students. It was greatly appreciated. Nourhan is fantastic and she broke down all the steps and movements that it was a pleasure to dance. She has such a great sense of humor, like you too! If I learned one thing today which made me feel better was knowing that maybe why we all dance is we find comfort and solace in being ourselves and comfortable with our bodies. I feel like you all have quickly accepted me and I’m surrounded by great friends whenever we get together. And it is pretty funny that my first show with the troupe was this past Rakkasah on October 18th. Way to throw me in head first! was the first time I had danced to a live drummer, Gamal was wonderful!
While we were dancing, I also observed that every single woman in that

The worshop was just wonderful! My favorite part was when we all danced
in a circle...learning and connecting as we went around! I learned many
new things yesterday and even had a few moments where I experienced joy
in dancing (vs. thinking about all the things that need to come together

a Rakkasah!!! Cinderella is back on her stool by the fireplace. Thank
you so much for this weekend, fairy godmother. I loved every second of
it, and learned a lot from watching the performances, doing the workshop
(I'm still sore!), and best of all, performing and rocking the house with
my sister gypsies. Thank you is a little bit weak for all you have done for me, not just this weekend, but the journey getting me to this happy place (where I get to look like a princess, dance myself to exhaustion and be part of a sisterhood). You’ve changed my life, Chadia!!! Sequanna |
